What to expect in 2025? Global Fab equipment spending is expected to hit US$110 billion, up 2% year-on-year and the 6th straight year of growth. In 2026, fab spending is seen up 18% to $130 billion, driven by demand for high performance computing (HPC), memory chips, and AI silicon for edge devices.

The good fight: Qualcomm has taken its fight against ARM global, arguing its biggest supplier is guilty of anticompetitive behavior for restricting access to its technology after operating an open network for over 20 years in complaints to the European Commission, US Federal Trade Commission and Korea Fair Trade Commission, Bloomberg reports.
