Sharing Success on Substack
If you can do one thing for your Creator Newsletter business this weekend, this is it.
Weekend Homework for Newsletter Creators
Hey Everyone,
This is not a post, more like an announcement. I want to recommend you watch a podcast video by two of the most successful Substack Creators of 2022.
I believe you might be able to find tips, hacks and ideas on how to grow your Newsletter business.
People that have built followers like the top in Business or Technology, might know a thing or two about growing a personal brand, Newsletters and dealing with the fame that comes with Subsack’s Network effect. You think?
I’m still digesting it, but I’m curious what you guys think about it?
It’s great that
started Podcasting. It's been a game changer in some respects.https://www.lennyspodcast.com/

Having a Likeable Brand
Lenny is to me one of the most neutral and likeable agnostic value generators on Substack. I don’t necessarily have this charisma or likeability factor myself, but I want you dear reader to think about how this helps and how a podcast makes you more relatable to your current and prospective audience?
In a better world we could all be successful YouTube creators. But we are writers and our skill sets and interests also bog us down to our foundations. That’s good or bad and maybe necessary. But these are two men that have found commercial mainstream success in 2022. We should literally be taking notes.
Lenny has also become a defacto-evangelist for pointing out Substack trends.
That writing could produce or translate into physical events is rather endearing, if communities can truly scale? For some Creators, this is actually their strong suit. So many different kinds of people can create so many different kinds of value to readers and to to the community.
The niche can become a movement? We’ve seen it with our own eyes in 2022.
We have enough data to say that 2023 is the year of Substack's comeback with all this incredible momentum. For those of us with outrageous dreams of building media empires, there are actually now people have done it.
Dude, that’s something to be said about that in how
has scaled just in 2022 alone.Sorry I just called you dude but I’m genuinely excited to see people outside of Politics and conspiracy rants do really well on the platform. It’s no longer a one-trick pony and that’s proof of market-fit for the entire Creator Economy.
The Solo Entrepreneur Economy
Lenny is a pioneer of the Solo - Entrepreneur economy. Proof of community. Whatever you want to call it - it’s not just about building paid subscriptions at scale. There’s value prop of inspiration here. (I think it needs to be studied and teased out in greater detail).
How these folk and people like
find the method in the madness to scale is totally beyond my rational capability to fathom. I don't have the answers, but I'll happily look for clues in their treasures of success.Because on some level, their success is my success. Being cheerleaders in the Creator Economy means also showing gratitude, empathy and collaborating with the best. Lenny while understated, does not hold back. The value generates new avenues for remote workers, self-employed and Solo-entrepreneurs to find their own way.
That’s a gift from Lenny I won’t soon forget.
Thanks guys!
