Sponsored Ads in Emails
There's no turning back - WHEN waiting for Subs is not sustainable.
Hey Guys,
There will be macro ups and downs for Newsletter subscriptions, it’s not a silver bullet. Unless you are an Influencers, published author with a fan base, have a huge Email list or a chosen one of Substack’s employees, there may be no golden spoon.
If you’d done your homework on driving Newsletter subs and free readers, you do have another option - it’s Paid Ads. I hate to say it, but for serious Substackers that want to survive the Creator Economy winter, it’s a must to at least explore.
While Substack doesn’t like it (they are Anti-Ads), financially for writers it’s the only way to supplement this horrible environment as subscription burnout hits consumers struggling with inflation, that is, including our dearest of readers.
Diversifying your revenue as a Creator isn’t bad, it’s just doing our basic due diligence that so you can keep writing. Substack for all the ‘stack’, doesn’t match your Newsletter with a prospective Ad customer, and it’s a pity.
My understanding of this is going to evolve, but here is my initial take on the topic:
