Hey Everyone,

After being disappointed by Twitter clones like Post News, Bluesky Social and well disappointed by Mastodon years ago, the heir apparent is Instagram’s Barcelona project.

By the way, I’m also disappointed with Substack Notes and the actual Twitter. I’m also sad to see how LinkedIn posts has evolved, into micro content that doesn’t even reward Creators.

For the record, Artifact is the real deal and among my favorite news reading apps that will actually value the personal brand of journalists and writers. But Artifact is from the creators of Instagram for real, so I guess there’s a story behind everything.

Try to find the beauty of yet another Facebook cloned app is a difficult story.

Meta has been through dozens by now in its history, and nothing quite stuck like the companies it itself decided to acquire Instagram and WhatsApp.

That was in 2012 and 2014 respectively, fast forward a decade and Lemon8 and Temu are showing Chinese companies know more about how to launch an app that Silicon Valley does.
